The EBU’s director of technology and innovation, Lieven Vermaele, has called for joint action in the defence of spectrum for broadcasting worldwide.

The future of spectrum for terrestrial broadcasting has been called into question by demands from some emerging economy countries that the frequencies should be used for mobile broadband applications.
