French service provider Free has been voted best ISP in a customer satisfaction survey of the country’s operators, coming out ahead of rivals including Orange, SFR, Numericable and Bouygues Telecom.
Free won a 94.5% satisfaction rating, ahead of Orange with 87.4%, SFR with 86.9%, Numericable with 85.7% and Bouygues Telecom with 80.5%. Free won approval for its launch of mobile services in competition with established players as well as for its installation of consumer equipment and services. Cable operator Numericable was highly rated for its TV and internet services but lost points for poor online assistance. However, all customers that churned from their existing service providers, with the partial exception of Orange customers, were extremely dissatisfied with the way the process was handled.
The monthly magazine 60 Millions de Consommateurs surveyed the views of 5,000 internet subscribers for the survey.
