Tricolor expects boost from movies service revenues

Russian low-cost pay TV operator Tricolor TV plans to increase revenue from value-added services by 25%.

According to local reports, Tricolor’s revenue from value-added services including its premium movies offering amounted to 11% of total revenues of RUB4.4 billion (€109 million) in 2011. The near video-on-demand movie service is available for RUB500.

Tricolor said it expected to sign up 200,000 customers to its movies offering by the end of this year, rising to 500,000 next year and over one million by 2015. Tricolor expects to have a total subscriber base of 12 million by the end of the year, rising to 14.5 million next year.
