Spanish triple-play operator Telecable has partnered with interactive TV company Accedo to launch a new social TV app.
The service enables Telecable’s customers to engage with social media directly on the TV, including reading feeds and sharing what they are watching through their social media status profile. Viewers can also view and comment on pictures posted to social networks through the TV. The service is a commercial deployment of Accedo’s Social Integration Toolkit software module.
“We are always looking for new ways to offer our customers an appealing and attractive service and we believe that Social TV is an excellent way of achieving this,” said Javier Rodríguez, technology strategy manager, Telecable. “Accedo has extensive experience creating Social TV apps and services and we are pleased to be working with them for this new service.”
