Sky Deutschland to air bulk of Champions League games

German pay TV operator Sky Deutschland has secured rights to air most of the matches of the forthcoming UEFA Champions League football season.

Sky will air 15-16 Champions League matches every week, kicking off with matches between Borussia Dortmund and Ajax Amsterdam and Schalke 04 against Olympiakos Piräus.

The deal leaves public broadcaster ZDF with the rights to cover 18 matches over the season at an estimated cost €48 million.
