Russian service provider MTS has chosen Teleste’s Luminato headend platform and Broadcast Manager service management system for additional digital deployments.
MTS aims to convert all its networks to digital over the next year.MTS will use Teleste’s equipment to expand its digitisation programme to new cities over the coming months.
“We are very pleased with the progress we have had and how our plans have realized. The short timeframe from selecting Teleste as our provider to the situation where the new services were available to subscribers in the planned extent has exceeded our expectations. Our decision to carry out this project with Teleste has proved to be successful. When deciding about expanding to new locations, we didn’t hesitate to continue with Teleste,” said Boris Tomilin, chief of TV divisin in the MTS fixed network development department.
Separately, Teleste announced that its new Ubique OTT product, the launch of which was previously reported in DTVE IBC Update, was being supported by Verimatrix’s Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for Internet TV to provide full support in securing operators’ revenues. In addition to its Ubique launch, Teleste also announced a fully customizable iPad application and several extensions to its Luminato headend platform.
