Tricolor TV denies dumping charge

Russian pay TV operator Tricolor TV has denied charges of dumping levied by rival operators.

The Russian cable association, the AKTR, said that Tricolor TV’s pricing policy threatened the viability of the market in the country. Tricolor offers a package of services for the very low price of RUB900 (€23) a year, about a third of the price of rival services. The AKTR has said that the prices charged by Tricolor TV meant it could not be operating at a profit if Tricolor was paying market rates to international content providers.

Tricolor TV issued a statement saying that its deals with international channel providers were market-driven and reflected each side’s commercial priorities.
