TVcheck now available on Android

Orange’s TVcheck social TV app is now available on Android devices in the UK and France.

The app allows users to access games and chat about shows with friends. It uses live TV image recognition technology that allows users to point their phones at the TV screen, with the phone then able to recognize the show and ‘check in’ the viewer. Once checked in, a viewer can participate in live quizzes, earn badges or challenge other viewers to become ‘top dog’ of a specific programme or channel. The app also provides a connection to websites including Facebook and Twitter.

Having previously launched in France, TVcheck was launched in the UK for iOS devices in May. Orange struck partnerships with 25 free-to-air channels in the UK, including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
