Kazakh Channel 31 strikes exclusive deal with Warner Bros

CTC Media-owned Kazakh free-to-air channel Channel 31 has signed a multi-year output deal with Warner Bros International Television Distribution.

Under the deal, described as the first time an exclusive output deal has been struck in Kazakhstan, Channel 31 will secure rights to broadcast a range of films and TV series from Warner Bros including The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings and The Hangover.

“Channel 31 is the first channel on the Kazakhstan market to sign such an output deal with Warner Bros, which is testament to the effective development and continued growth of our business,” said Bagdat Kodzhakhmetov, CEO of Channel 31. “The agreement gives us the exclusive right to show an enormous range of popular movies and animations.
