Numericable high-speed boost compensates TV decline

French cable operator Numericable had 523,000 very high-speed internet customers at the end of June.

The operator hopes to add a further 285,000 subscribers to the very high-speed service, offering speeds of between 100Mbps-200Mbps, by the end of the year. However, Numericable’s regular triple-play base fell from 944,000 to 943,000, with TV customers dropping from 410,000 to 392,000 during the quarter.

Numericable saw second quarter revenues grow by 2.2% to €219 million.
