MobiTV extends data centre as part of international expansion

Mobile TV specialist MobiTV has extended its data centre to enable the multiscreen delivery of video content as part of its international expansion programme.

MobiTV said that the Motion Picture Association of America, (MPAA) had assessed its methods and technologies for securely ingesting, encoding and storing movies, opening the door for it to ingest library content from the major studios and store content in high-resolution formats for delivery to multiple devices.

“To manage and prepare the high-quality source files for our partners we need an infrastructure capable of reliably and securely ingesting the file, encoding it and storing it for downloading or streaming,” said MobiTV CEO Charlie Nooney. “The extension of the data centre, together with our policy-based DRM and MPAA’s examination, showcases MobiTV’s capabilities to carry out this process in a secure environment for service providers.”
