Tough times for Mediaset’s pay and ad businesses

Revenues from Mediaset’s pay TV platform declined slightly during the first half of the year.

Mediaset Premium contributed revenues of €260.1 million for the six months ending June 30, compared with €263.9 million for the corresponding period last year. The Italian broadcaster saw revenues across its entire business decline to €2.3 billion from €2 billion.

Mediaset said revenues were unlikely to improve during the second half of the year due to a tough advertising climate in Italy and Spain.
