Google pushes back media streamer launch

Google has pushed back the launch of its planned Nexus Q media player, which is designed to be connectable to TV screens, to an indeterminate future date.

Google said in an email to consumers who had pre-ordered the device that it planned to add new features and functions before launching it.

Google had originally planned to launch the orb-shaped player in June. The device has been seen as a competitor to the Apple TV box and other multimedia devices.
