Viacom’s international channels division will launch Comedy Central Extra across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia, from the start of August. The channel will be distributed via the SBB-Telemach pay TV service, which has 1.5 million.
The channel will be programmed with new and library programming from Comedy Central and shows on the launch slate include The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and South Park.
“Extending the Comedy Central brand around the world is a top priority for VIMN. In-depth research into the market, combined with the huge success of South Park on MTV Adria indicate that a new, specialized comedy destination will be very well received across the region,” said David Lynn, executive vice-president, VIMN UK, Australia and central eastern Europe.
