The Netherlands was home to 7.7 million pay TV subscribers at the end of June.
According to data from communications regulator Opta, the country’s TV operators added just 6,000 new customers in the second quarter.
Almost eight in ten subscriptions is for digital services, compared with 70% a year earlier. Almost 70% of TV households subscribe to a cable service, and of those, 70% take digital services.
