Spanish satellite operator Hispasat has carried out a series of tests with satellite modulation specialist NovelSat’s equipment that provided throughput of 5Mbps per MHz under various stress scenarios.
The tests were carried out at the Hispasat Group’s satellite control centre in Arganda del Rey, Madrid, via the Hispasat 1E and 1C satellites. The tests produced throughput of 180Mbps for a 36MHz transponder via the use of a NS3 modem developed by NovelSat, which uses a patented 64APSK digital modulation and codification system.
