DNA cable subs hovering around 600,000

DNA-owned Finnish cable operator Welho TV had 597,000 TV subscribers at the end of June, up 5,000 on the previous quarter but down 5,000 on the December 2011 count.

DNA’s fixed-line broadband base was 307,000 at the end of June, up from 298,000 in March, while fixed-line telephone customers numbered 130,000, down from 134,000.

DNA said that it anticipated that its terrestrial TV network and terrestrial network pay TV business will grow, albeit slowly. It said it expected pay TV services to gain ground as the most appealing sports coverage moves to pay channels.

DNA completed the rollout of its digital-terrestrial TV network on June 20 and its network currently covers about 85% of the country’s households.
