EBU signs UEFA distribution deal

The EBU has signed a deal with European football body UEFA to deliver programming on its Eurovision network.

Under the contract, all audiovisual UEFA programmes will be distributed around the world exclusively on the Eurovision satellite and fibre network. This includes all Champions League and Europa League matches for the 2012 to 2015 seasons, and the national team matches of the European Qualifiers for Euro 2016 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Separately, UEFA has awarded Bulgarian media rights to the 2012-15 Champions League to BTV and 2012-15 Europa League media rights to BNT and BTV.

Each Champions League match night, one live match will be broadcast on free channel BTV Action, followed by a highlights programme. A second live match will be broadcast on pay channel Ring.BG each match night.

Public broadcaster BNT will broadcast the best Europa League match each match week, as well as the weekly highlights programme on BNT1. BTV has been awarded the rights to all remaining live matches and will broadcast one live match on BTV Action and one live match on Ring.BG each match week.
