Playcast claims World first first for cable cloud gaming

Korean cable operator CJ Hellovision has teamed up with gaming specialist Playcast to launch what the latter describes as the World’s first cloud gaming service to cable set-top boxes.

The service will allow CJ Hellovision subscribers to play video games from major publsihsers through their set-top boxes, without the need for a games console. Games console penetration is low in Korea, giving pay TV operators the opportunity to capture a significant share of the market.
