UPC Poland ramps up HD services

UPC Poland has boosted its HD offering with the launch of two new HD packages and the addition of a new channel.

The Select HD package offers 102 channels, 16 of which are HD channels. Four sports channels, Eurosport HD, Eurosport 2 HD, Polsat Sport HD and Polsat Sport Extra HD, thematic channels Discovery HD Showcase, National Geographic Channel HD and Animal Planet HD join local networks TVP 1 HD, TVP 2 HD, TVN HD and Polsat HD. A second package, HD Extra Pack Max, offers 138 channels inlcuding all the HD channels that were previously offered in the Super HD package.

The Polish cable operator has also added music channel rebel:tv to its line-up and said US channels HBO 2 HD and HBO Comedy HD would be added later this year.
