Distributed video specialist Edgeware has announced that Swiss IPTV wholesale supplier Netsream has chosen its Distributed Video Delivery Network (D-VDN) framework to provide catch-up TV, pause live TV, network DVR and VOD services to operators.
A Swiss triple-play operator has already deployed the joint solution.
Edgeware said its D-VDN could record live TV channels, enabling operators to deliver advanced video and TV on-demand services with high levels of Quality of Experience from a single platform.
“Edgeware’s Distributed Video Delivery Network solution enables us to offer superior scalability by hosting content in our own network, while allowing our customers to deploy additional caching in their networks, which allows them to scale the service without the need for additional network bandwidth capacity”, said Reto Kasser, chief technology officer, Netstream.
