The BBC will, for the second consecutive year, air coverage from the Wimbledon tennis Championships in 3D next month. It will also deliver action via a connected TV app.
The corporation will deliver selective live coverage of the Ladies’ and Mens’ finals in 3D on the BBC HD channel. It will also offer full re-runs of the Mens’ Singles semi-finals in 3D. The 3D coverage is part of the BBC’s two year trial experimenting with 3D production and broadcast.
The BBC will also, for the first time, offer interactive coverage of the tennis tournament via its BBC Sport app for connected TVs, including live and on-demand content. Viewers will also be able to choose from up to six live match streams on the BBC Sport website via computer, smartphone and tablet.
