The Multimedia-over-Coax Alliance (MoCA), which provides specifications for home networking over in-home coax, has announced that six European service providers are trialling its technology.
MoCA supports various streams of content, including HDTV, 3D, gaming, and OTT, via an IP-over-coax connection to in-home devices, including HDTVs, game consoles and PCs.
“Going into trials with six European service providers demonstrates that there is serious demand in Europe for a reliable in-home backbone capable of extending and enhancing WiFi networks and providing the QoE that consumers expect from an ever-expanding range of media services,” said Charles Cerino, MoCA president.”
MoCA has more than 100 certified products and 57 members.
