Voddler, the Sweden-based online video service, has launched a social TV service for Nokia Lumia handset owners that enables them to synchronise what they are watching with their friends.
The Voddler Movie Night app lets users schedule joint-viewing of certain movies. The app, developed in partnership with Nokia, can also be used to review movies and lets users chat with other users.
The app also offers exclusive deals for Lumia users, including four months of Voddler’s membership programme, Voddler Plus, and two movie tickets.
Voddler Movie Night is initially available in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Spain.
“Watching movies just got social again. Our app combines the inherent communication strength of a mobile device with online video’s flexibility to let you and your friends decide when and where to watch,” said Marcus Bäcklund, CEO of Voddler.
