Hollywood studio MGM has launched a high-definition movie channel in Russia, the CIS region and the Baltics.
The channel, MGM HD, is programmed with features from MGM’s 4,000-strong catalogue. It rolled out on the Tricolor, Orion, Akado, NCN and Viasat platforms on May 31.
“The launch of MGM HD offers audiences in Russia and the former Soviet Republics the most diverse movie selection from our prestigious library shown in the most advanced technology,” said Matthew Baxter, senior vice-president, MGM Networks.
Separately, MGM has launched a local-language feed in Croatia. The MGM channel in the country was versioned with local subtitles from today.
