Cable operator UPC Austria has begun offering its digital TV service via CI Plus modules.
The move means that subscribers can now access UPC’s service without a set-top box, via a UPC-certified TV produced by Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, Philips, LG, Loewe, Sharp or Bang and Olufsen, with other manufacturers to follow. For first TV screens, modules are available for €3 a month, while for second TVs the charge is €5.90, on top of the subscription for the digital service.
