UK telco TalkTalk says YouView is on course to launch by the end of September.
Announcing its full year results, TalkTalk said it expected to launch a triple-play package featuring the connected TV platform between July and September.
“YouView will bring to our customers all of the ‘plug-in-and-watch’ simplicity of Freeview, plus the UK’s leading internet catch-up and video on-demand services, all instantly available through one simple, intuitive set-top box and proprietary electronic programme guide,” the company said in a statement, adding that development within the YouView team was “progressing well”.
TalkTalk began a ‘friends and family’ YouView trial in April and said this would be extended to customers “soon”.
The telco reduced its customer losses to 13,000 in its final quarter, down from 43,000 the previous quarter. It ended March with a total of 4.066 million subs.
