Chello Central Europe has won the rights to air Spanish La Liga football. The Liberty Global-owned channel provider will air matches from the Primera Division on its Sport1 and Sport2 channels in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia for the next three seasons.
“This acquisition underlines our commitment to football fans in the region as we continue providing the most compelling content to our viewers. Chello Central Europe has been offering continuous coverage of Spanish league matches in Hungary since October 2000, and in the Czech Republic and Slovakia since October 2006. Our Sport1 and Sport2 viewers can now continue to look forward to the championship title battle plus the home matches for the next three seasons,” said Levente Málnay, CEO, Chello Central Europe.
