Switchover Media, the independent channel operator, will launch a crime and mystery channel next week. Giallo (“Yellow”) will roll out on May 14 on digital terrestrial and be programmed with crime drama, thrillers and whodunits from the US and Europe. It will be channel number 38 on the DTT EPG.
“As independent players in an increasingly fragmented market, our objective is to build unique and coherently targeted TV brands and make them accessible to the entire population through DTT,” said Francesco Nespega, managing partner at Switchover Media. “With Giallo we add a new distinctive brand aimed at a female-skewed adult 20-49 target.”
Switchover already operates three Italian DTT channels, kids channels K2 and Frisbee and teenage boy-focused GXT.
