Orange adds TV subs but fails to counter telephony decline

Orange added 992,000 TV customers in the year to March, giving it a total of 5.349 million TV customers at the end of the first quarter.

In France, Orange had 4.555 million TV customers, up 23%, while its Polish TV base rose by 14.9% to 663,000.

Orange had 14.6 million broadband customers globally at the end of the first quarter, up 4.8% year-on-year, including 9.7 million in France and 2.35 million in Poland. Overall revenues in both markets declined due to a loss of telephone subscribers but fixed broadband revenues grew.
