Maxdome teams with Accedo for TV apps

German video-on-demand provider Maxdome has partnered with Accedo Broadband to deliver connected TV apps for multiple platforms.

The first app launched under the partnership was a Panasonic Viera Connect application launched at the end of March, giving viewers access to a vast catalogue of 45,000 video titles. The two companies are also working together to develop video-on-demand apps for other platforms and these are expected to launch in 2012 across a number of different devices globally.

“Smart TV opens up a wealth of opportunity to engage with the customer in a new and exciting way, as well as to extend our reach in the living room,” said Rene Rummel, head of product management and business development, Maxdome. “Accedo was a natural choice for us to partner with on this project, given the company’s extensive experience in this field.”
