BSkyB has promoted Stuart Murphy to director of its entertainment channels.
Murphy was previously director of Sky’s flagship entertainment channel Sky 1. In his new role he will oversee all of the News Corp-backed pay TV operator’s entertainment channels, which include Sky Atlantic HD, Sky Arts HD and Sky Living HD.
Murphy will continue to report to Sophie Turner Laing, managing director of entertainment. “Over the past three years, under Stuart’s leadership, we have seen Sky 1 become a true destination channel,” she said. “I have no doubt that in his new role, he’ll bring the same vision and drive to the rest of the portfolio.”
