UK pay TV operator BSkyB is expected to report around 10,000 new pay television subscribers and 140,000 new high definition customers when it announces its quarterly financial results later this week.
The News Corp-backed pay platform is set to report its third-quarter financials on Wednesday and investment bank Morgan Stanley believes it will total 10.54 million total customers, with 10.26 million TV subscribers and 4,203,000 subscribers to its Sky Plus HD service. ”There was also the launch of the Formula One HD channel which should have helped HD adds in the quarter – we forecast these at 140k in line with the Christmas quarter,” noted the bank.
This comes as the pay broadcaster is expected to launch a number of new services in the coming months including its new OTT service NowTV before the end of June.
