Russian broadcaster CTC Media’s international channel CTC International is launching in the central Asian state of Kyrgyzstan after striking a deal with broadcast group Europe Asia.
The channel, which is available in the US, Israel, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa and other parts of central Asia via Eutelsat’s Hot Bird satellite platform, will be available over the air in Kyrgyzstan. CTC Media deputy CEO Marat Kildeyev said that the channel would be available to about 25% of the country’s population of approximately 5.5 million.
