TV Numeric looking for new investor

French digital-terrestrial pay TV service provider TV Numeric is reportedly looking for a new investor.

According to financial daily Les Echos, TV Numeric’s main shareholder Hugues d’Annoux has held talks to bring in a minority shareholder, with the aim of securing an agreement by the end of the summer.

TV Numeric is currently owned by d’Annoux, with a 91% stake, and UK pay DTT operator Top Up TV, with 9%. The latter merged its own French service, TNTop, with TV Numeric in 2010. TV Numeric still plans to launch a long-delayed video-on-demand service, SelecTV, on the DTT platform. However, questions continue to be raised about the future of pay TV on digital-terrestrial, following the shutting down of pay channels CFoot and TPS Star.
