Vivendi planning ‘Netflix-like’ SVOD service

French media giant Vivendi is reportedly making plans to launch a subscription video-on-demand service in Germany.

Vivendi subsidiary Multiscreen Entertainment president Stefan Schulz told Germany’s Focus magazine that the yet-to-be-named service would probably launch in the third or fourth quarter.

Schulz said the service, which he compared to US service Netflix, would initially be available in Germany but would likely be rolled out across other European countries thereafter.
