Channel provider Discovery Networks is to launch mobile TV services in Russia in partnership with service provider MTS.
Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and TLC will be made available to MTS’s mobile customer base. MTS offers mobile TV service via 3G and Wi-Fi across Russia for RUB8 a day. About 100 channels are available. The service is available on most smartphone platforms, including Android, iOS, Symbian, Windows and Samsung Bada devices.
Separately, Russian online movie service Ivi.ru has struck a deal to pre-install its mobile TV application on Fly mobile devices in the country. The service will be available on Fly’s Fly Turbo and Fly Tech models.
