French public broadcaster France Télévisions has decided against offering films free of charge on its catch-up TV service Pluzz, according to local reports.
The broadcaster had announced its intention to add films to the service a year ago, but failed to strike a deal with rights organisations.
Separately, Jean Réveillon has been named head of France 2, replacing Bertrand Mosca, who is leaving his post for health reasons.
Réveillon, who had previously served as deputy director at France 3, rejoined France Télévisions in 2010 as special adviser to director-general Rémy Pflimlin after a period with the European Broadcasting Union.
