Deutsche Telekom in bid for Bundesliga rights

Deutsche Telekom will be among the parties submitting bids for German Bundesliga rights this week in competition with Sky Deutschland, according to local reports.

The German Football League, the DFL, is expected to make a decision on allocation of the rights to the 2013-17 seasons on April 17.

Deutsche Telekom already holds the IP rights to distribute coverage of the Bundesliga, but any extension of its rights could be controversial as the Germany state still holds a stake in the company.
