Kaonmedia and Verimatrix deliver OTT box for Etisalat

Digital set-top vendor Kaonmedia and conditional access company Verimatrix have partnered to help UAE telco Etisalat deliver its OTT service OnWeb.

The companies have developed an Android pay TV solution that features Kaonmedia’s Android-based SmartCube/TV+ consumer devices with digital TV revenue security from Verimatrix and its Video Content Authority System for internet TV. The platform is a secure broadcast TV solution for OTT delivery of premium content, supported by a user interface, full internet access and apps from the Kaon App Store.

The solution has been deployed as a component of Etisalat’s OTT services in the United Arab Emirates.

Separately, Serbia Broadband and Telemach, the Slovenian and Bosnian cable TV and broadband internet provider, have deployed the VCAS for internet TV platform, to deliver over-the-top video services and provide enhanced revenue security.
