Italian media group Mediaset has asked an Italian court to overturn an earlier government decision to postpone the beauty contest for Italian digital TV frequencies, according to newspaper Il Sore 24 Ore.
The Berlusconi-family controlled media group was joined by broadcaster Centro Europa 7 in seeking to have the decision revoked, the paper reported.
Mediaset was expected to be awarded two of the best slots. The Italian government postponed the beauty contest for new digital-terrestrial TV frequencies while it conducted a full analysis of how the frequencies should be used.
