Vidéofutur says hybrid DVD and on-demand offering is on track

French video-on-demand and DVD rental specialist Vidéofutur says it is on target to sign up 300,000 subscribers to its €6.99 a month Pass Duo service, which combines online VOD with DVD rental, over three years.

The service, which launched in mid-2011, currently has 30,000 customers. Vidéofutur said VOD usage had doubled since the start of the year. New titles are available on a transactional basis for €2.99. The service, with about 5,000 titles available online, is available via connected TV and the web.

The company posted a loss of €3.9 million for the year, a reduction of 32% on the previous year’s loss, with revenues of €7.2 million.
