BBC News personalises Facebook page

UK broadcaster the BBC has launched a new feature on its BBC News Facebook page enabling users to personalise the mix of content that appears on their news feed.

Gareth Owen, product manager for the BBC News website, said the update was a response to the changing user habits of BBC News online users. The number of clicks to BBC News stories from Facebook is over 14 times higher than it was at the end of 2008, he said, adding that almost a quarter of a million individual users arrive at the BBC News website via a link on Facebook each day.
