T-VIPS aids local insertion for SFN DTT networks

TV technology company T-VIPS has launched the CP330 T2 Bridge, which it says enables efficient regional adaption in DVB-T/T2 Single Frequency Networks.

SFNs are seen as less costly and more frequency-efficient than the multiple frequency network digital-terrestrial deployments seen in countries including the UK. However, SFN operation impacts the operator’s ability to insert local content to a national TV service.

T-VIPS says that its CP330 offers a solution for operators to cost-effectively insert local content in SFN networks. The device makes it possible to reuse a DTH satellite signal to directly feed terrestrial transmitters, according to T-VIPS.
