The Belarus ministry of telecommunications and information has asked Russian communications infrastructure provider Giprosvyaz to prepare a plan for the country’s transition to digital broadcasting, to be submitted by April 1.
The Belarusian Broadcasting Centre’s director Andrei Kara told local journalists yesterday that DVB-T coverage would extend to 95.6% of the country’s population by the end of this year.
Kara said the broadcaster was now ready to transmit in full HD. He said that HD services would be launched as part of the second stage of the country’s digital transition.
