Greek telco OTE increased its TV subscriber base by 20% last year, ending December with a total of 59,944 IPTV and DTH customers.
OTE launched a satellite TV service in October, building on its IPTV offering. Both services are offered under the OTE TV brand.
OTE’s Romanian subsidiary Romtelecom also saw its pay TV base increase, by 12%. The telco, which offers TV services via cable, DTH and IPTV, ended 2011 with 1.18 million TV subscribers. Broadband subscriber numbers were also up 12% to 1.14 million.
OTE recorded fourth quarter revenues of €1.3 billion, down 6.3% on 2010 but CEO Michael Tsamaz said revenue decline slowed down or remained stable in all core operations during the three months ending December 31.
