Hungarian telco Magyar Telekom ended 2011 with 797,390 TV subscribers, a 6.5% year-on-year increase.
The split between DTH, cable and IPTV customers was fairly even, but IPTV uptake grew at the fastest rate while cable numbers continued to decline. At the end of December, the Deutsche Telekom-owned telco was home to 226,385 IPTV customers, up 82% year-on-year. Cable numbers were down 22% to 289,693 while DTH numbers were up 11% to 281,312.
Blended ARPU was up 3.4% to HUF3,048 (€10.50).
Increasing TV subscriber numbers were not enough to prevent Magyar Telekom from posting a 2% dip in revenues to HUF598 billion. EBITDA was down 8% to HUF196 billion.
