Five to launch VOD on new platforms

British commercial broadcaster Channel Five is ramping up the number of platforms that host its video-on-demand service Demand 5.

Jeff Ford, director of programmes at Channel Five, speaking at a Broadcasting Press Guild event, said that it hopes to make the service available via the Sony Playstation 3, You View and free-to-air satellite service Freesat. 
Demand Five is currently available online, and via Virgin Media and Samsung Smart TVs. 
Ford said: “We’re hoping to tie up more video-on-demand deals in the next six months; we’ll be adding to that list this year.”
