Canal Plus shareholders back Meheut’s continued leadership

Canal Plus’s shareholders have given a strong sign of their confidence in the continued leadership of CEO Bertrand Meheut by voting to confirm him in this post for the next four years.

The shareholders’ oversight committee also confirmed Rodolphe Belmer, currently CEO of Canal Plus France, as his successor.

The move follows a week of press speculation in France that Meheut, 62, may be preparing to step down early in favour of Bellmer. The reports had suggested that Mehuet could be planning to leave the group at the end of 2013.
