German cable operator Kabel Deutschland ended 2011 with a strong quarter, adding 134,000 new pay TV RGUs and 68,000 internet and telephony customers.
The increases helped KDG post a third quarter profit of €55 million compared with a €36.5 million loss a year earlier.
The operator ended December with a total of 1.082 million pay TV subscribers, compared with 962,000 at the end of 2010. The number of DVR customers increased by 200,000 to 466,000.
KDG’s total RGU base stood at 13.3 million at the end of 2011, which was up 5.7% year-on-year.
Third quarter revenues were up 5.4% to €427.3 million. TV revenues increased by 1.7% to €289.9 million, while internet and telephony revenues were up 14.2% to €137.4 million.
